Here's one very easy and inexpensive way to give your house that creepy haunted look.
Get an old set of sheer curtains and cut them up a bit. (To save money, shop at Goodwill or the Salvation Army for Halloween.)
For a dirty look, wash them in mud and hang them out to dry before putting them up
Hang them on the outside of your windows. (If you go for the "dirty" option, you may want to hose down your walls and windows after Halloween)
I hang mine up with wooden clothes pins.over the hurricane shutters. You can also run a rope through the top part of the curtains and hang them up as I did on the photo below)
These curtains were washed in mud for a dirtier look and hung up with a rope and tied to awning.
